Lowri was brought up in Newport, Pembrokeshire and many of her songs are inspired and written about her hometown. Her most well-known song ‘Merch y myny’ (Mountain girl) is about her upbringing under the shadow of the mountain Carningli and her important relationship to her Pembrokeshire roots.
Lee Mason has been a key figure throughout Lowri’s career and his beautifully judged guitar playing and subtle harmonies have been integral to Lowri’s music from the outset.
Lowri has been championed by BBC Radio 6, Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2, Radio Cymru/Wales (Track of the Week numerous times), has performed in various festivals including Greenman Festival, Cambridge Folk and Sesiwn Fawr, venues such as King Tuts in Glasgow to the Union Chapel in London, from Wales to America.
