Join Lowri and her full band at Rhosygilwen, Neuadd y Dderwen on 23rd October for a very unique evening to celebrate 20 years since Lowri released her first album and the song ‘Merch y Myny’.

Lowri Evans will be familiar to fans of Welsh music as a bilingual artist who has been writing, recording and performing for a number of years.

Lowri was brought up in Newport, Pembrokeshire and many of her songs are inspired and written about her hometown. Her most well-known song ‘Merch y myny’ (Mountain girl) is about her upbringing under the shadow of the mountain Carningli and her important relationship to her Pembrokeshire roots.

Lee Mason has been a key figure throughout Lowri’s career and his beautifully judged guitar playing and subtle harmonies have been integral to Lowri’s music from the outset.

Lowri has been championed by BBC Radio 6, Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2, Radio Cymru/Wales (Track of the Week numerous times), has performed in various festivals including Greenman Festival, Cambridge Folk and Sesiwn Fawr, venues such as King Tuts in Glasgow to the Union Chapel in London, from Wales to America.

She has released 10 albums, 6 EP’s and collaborated with various musicians including Tom McRae, Henry Priestman, Michelle Stodard, Owen Powell and Ryland Teifi.

Set beneath the oak beams of Neuadd y Dderwen, this evening will be a personal and special experience, filled with music old and new and entertaining stories from the last 20 years.
