We are delighted that Gwynedd Parry and Meinir Jones Parry have agreed to perform their debut evening together at Rhosygilwen of songs and tunes to welcome in the spirit of spring.
Gwynedd Parry has achieved notable success as a solo competitor on the Eisteddfod circuit and is the only singer to have won the Blue Ribbon at Gŵyl Fawr Aberteifi three times (2001, 2008, 2009). Another pinnacle was winning the Osborne Roberts Memorial Prize (Blue Ribbon for young singers) at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Bridgend in 1998.
Since then, he has performed as a soloist with choirs throughout Wales, including performances of choral works such as the Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem, Stainer’s Crucifixion, Orff’s Carmina Burana and a concert performance of Joseph Parry’s operetta, ‘Blodwen’. Concert engagements have included solo performances at Huddersfield Town Hall, Brecon Cathedral and St. John’s Parish Church, Windsor. He has also appeared on S4C on programmes such as Noson Lawen and Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol. This is his Rhos-y-Gilwen debut, and he is delighted to perform at this prestigious venue.
