Summer evening in Prague-The Abermore Singers
Sunday, October 7
3:00 pm - 4:15 pm
The concert includes motets, anthems, and part songs from the 16th century to the present day by the Abermore Singers, who have recently returned from successful concerts in Prague.
The choir comprises local groups such as Scaramella and Cor Teifi. But it also includes singers from Aberystwyth and Shropshire. The unifying force is conductor Alistair Auld, who leads choirs both in Wales and England. He brought the group together for a trip to the Czech Republic in August, where they played to full houses, sending the local audiences home smiling.
He has included a broad mixture of early English pieces from Tallis and Byrd, alongside beautiful modern works from Morten Lauridsen and James Macmillan. There’s even a Dvořák lullaby, which is sung in Czech, which was a hit in Prague.
THE IS NO ENTRANCE FEE BUT DONATIONS TO AIR AMBULANCE WILL BE ACCEPTED
